I am an experienced psychotherapist in Baltimore, Maryland. I have a Master’s degree in Social Work and I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C) in Maryland.
I have been providing therapy for 20 years. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and continued training in psychodynamic and family therapy gaining a post-masters certification in both ideologies.
My experience has been in treating individuals, couples and families with a wide range of issues and varying degrees of difficulties. I have been described as real, not someone who hides behind a role, and to the point. I work to capitalize on people’s strengths and help shore up weaknesses in a kind understanding way, with humor whenever possible.
You can contact me here. Thanks for visiting and come back soon!
Appointments can be made by calling me at (410) 218-8819. My office is located in the Mount Washington area of Baltimore. For your convenience I offer Saturday hours.
I am no longer a member of provider networks. I can provide the necessary documentation for you to apply for out of network benefits if you seek reimbursement through your insurance company. If you wish to discuss fee for therapy, please don’t hesitate to call.
e-therapy is therapy over the Internet using email or video
With e-therapy, all communication is via email or live video and I bill only for the time I take to read and respond to your messages or spend interacting live. Payment is pre-paid in $35 increments, which covers 30 minutes of my time. I use email invoicing through PayPal, allowing you to use any of the payment methods they accept. I will let you know how much time remains in my emails to you and when you must purchase more time.
Advantages:
- Experienced, professionally-trained therapist as close as a keyboard
- Less expensive than traditional therapy
- No transportation issues
- No rush formulating your thoughts and questions
Disadvantages:
- Loss of non-verbal cues (facial expressions, hand gestures)
- Loss of verbal cues (intonation, volume)
- Non-immediate response
- No insurance accepted
This service is not for individuals who are suicidal or homicidal or otherwise in need of immediate intervention. Emergency rooms, crisis centers, and 911 should be used if life is at stake.
You must be 18 or older to participate in e-therapy and you must be willing to wait up to 48 hours for a response, though my goal is to respond sooner than that. I will let you know if there is anything in my schedule that I know will prevent me from responding in a timely manner.
If you are interested in starting e-therapy with me, send an email telling me so to lynn@lynnfeldman.com. I will follow up with a PayPal invoice and we can get started.
